About Mexican American Bar Association

Mexican American Bar Association is committed to the advancement of Latinos in the legal profession and the empowerment of the Latino community through service and advocacy.

MABA was founded in 1957 by a group of Mexican American attorneys who saw the need to create an organization committed to empowering/educating Latino communities.

The Association is a nonprofit mutual benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. The specific and primary purposes for which this Association is formed shall be to advance the science of jurisprudence; to promote the administration of justice; to encourage a comprehensive legal education; to maintain the honor and dignity of the legal profession; and to cultivate social interactions among its members.
