About Colorado Latino Leadership Advocacy & Research Organization

The Colorado Latino Leadership, Advocacy & Research Organization (CLLARO) provides comprehensive services designed to empower Latino communities across Denver and throughout Colorado. Since 1964, CLLARO has delivered evidence-based leadership development, public policy advocacy, and rigorous research to address systemic inequities affecting Latino populations. The organization operates three core service areas: a Capitol Fellowship Program that cultivates Latino civic leaders equipped to influence legislation; strategic public policy advocacy conducted in coalition with community partners and advocacy groups; and credible research and analysis that provides factual evidence on policy issues impacting vulnerable and underrepresented Latino communities. CLLARO's bilingual and bicultural team works collaboratively with community members, policymakers, and advocacy organizations to strengthen Colorado's political, social, and economic landscape. The organization has demonstrated significant impact over six decades, including increasing Latino participation in the U.S. Census, enhancing voter registration and political engagement, advancing legislative redistricting efforts, and developing new generations of civic leaders. Operating from Denver, CLLARO focuses specifically on public policy issues affecting Latinos across the entire state, with particular attention to Colorado's growing Latino population—now comprising more than 25% of the state's residents. Whether addressing health disparities, education inequities, economic opportunity gaps, housing challenges, or civic engagement barriers, CLLARO combines grassroots community connection with policy expertise to create meaningful, lasting change for Colorado's Latino communities.
