Colorado Hispanic Bar Association

The Colorado Hispanic Bar Association in Denver, CO is a professional organization dedicated to advancing Hispanic interests within the legal profession and serving the broader Latino community. Founded in 1977 as the Chicano Bar Association, the CHBA has grown to represent and support more than 500 Latino and Hispanic attorneys across Colorado who specialize in all areas of law. The organization provides comprehensive professional development opportunities through continuing legal education seminars, committee work, and networking initiatives designed to strengthen the careers of Hispanic legal professionals. CHBA members have secured significant leadership positions within the Colorado legal system, including appointments to the bench, district attorney offices, governmental entities, and private law firms. The organization actively collaborates with state and national bar associations, including the Colorado Bar Association and the Hispanic National Bar Association, and has hosted three national conventions in Denver. Beyond professional services, the CHBA is deeply committed to expanding legal opportunities for underrepresented communities. The organization coordinates pro bono legal services, community outreach programs, and advocacy efforts addressing critical issues affecting the Hispanic community. Members donate their time and expertise annually to Hispanic community boards and nonprofit organizations throughout Colorado.
